KAWASAKI SWEEPS TOP-FIVE

Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green rider Josh Morros captured the Pro 2 class victory as Kawasaki riders went on to dominate the top-five positions during round four of the WORCS series in Payette, Idaho. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Nathan Woods put in a great ride and earned third in the Pro class.

Woods made a strong return to race action in Payette after missing round three due to an injured right hand. Off the line in second, he took advantage of his great start and eventually came across the finish line in third.

“Being off the bike for about a month now definitely hurt me a bit,” said Woods. “I’m happy with third and looking forward to the next round in two weeks where I plan on being 110 percent.”

Teammate Destry Abbott put himself in excellent position with a third-place start. On the first lap, he hit a slick section which caused his front end to wash out. He quickly remounted his KX™450F and made a push for the front. He overcame arm pump and battled back to finish in ninth-place.

“I had a lot of energy to push it, since I really didn’t use any for the first part of the race,” said Abbott. “I kept plugging away and making passes here and there. My last lap went really well and I was able finish in ninth after all that had happened. I’ve been nailing the starts and now I just need to work on relaxing and keeping myself up there.”

In the Pro 2 class, Morros earned his third victory of the year, which extends his points lead to 18 in the championship race. Teammates Jamie Lanza and Ryan Abbatoye took third and fourth behind dealer assist rider Taylor Robert, of Las Vegas’ Carter Powersports Kawasaki, who finished second. Rounding out the all-green top five was dealer assist rider Brett Saunders of Thousand Oaks Kawasaki (Thousand Oaks, Calif.).

The Monster Energy Kawasaki team heads to Milford, Calif., on April 13, for round four of the WORCS series.
